French singer Marie Martin will be mixing jazz, soul, and Brazilian music all night long. $3 beer and $5 cocktail specials during Happy Hour

La Excelencia Album Release Party @ SOB’S (375 Hudson St)

The Happy Hour goes from 5-7 pm, dance lessons from 7-8 pm, and show at 8 and 10 pm

Geri Allen & Carrie Mae Weems: Slow Fade To Black @ (9th Street & Prospect Park West). 8 pm

Renowned pianist, Geri Allen and globally-recognized photographer and video artist, Carrie Mae Weems join together for a unique world premiere commission. The themes of gender, race, and identity will imbue the photography show of Weems while set to the tone and melodies of Geri Allen. This is a show you won’t want to miss.

Brooklyn Vegan Showcase @ Williamsburg Music Hall (66 North 6th St). 9 pm

This Friday at the Willamsburg Music call, attendees will get to kick back and rock themselves away to the chords of: Caveman, Frankie Rose, Fort Lean, and Hume. For bands with the same mission: a good time.

25th annual Bang on a Can Concert features an eclectic mix of music by international-based and local musicians.
